Great pictures, and great website, just wish I knew french.. undecided I'm from Norway, there wasn't any Mopars racing in here as far as I know, but one of the 26 1967 Shelby Hardtop mustangs where raced here, but then nobody knew how rare it was. The shelby was raced to Promote FoMoCo and was very successfull. The car is now owned by a friend of mine. Just a regular guy that one day discovered that his beat-up-for-sale-mustang was worth is't weight in gold!  Grin Take a look here if you are interessed in American cars racing in europe.http://people.freenet.de/pony/bdjonne.htm I also attach a picture of how the car is today, it's beeing restored.

Hello! Thanks for your post (Grin even though it's about a Rust-tang Grin). There was a Hemicuda racing in Sweden, reportedly, back in the early eighties. This is the only photo I've managed to acquire. It was raced in England, sold to someone in Sweden and raced, then it was allegedly sold to someone in the US. Its present owner is unknown. Have you ever heard of or seen pictures of this car from its racing days in Sweden??

I haven't heard of it, or seen that picture before. But, then again, I'm from the early eigths myself, so I might be to young to know about it.

Here's a photo of 50231 from 1972. Henri Chemin (on right) is consulting his co-driver, Jean-Claude Geral about the (now) Hemi-powered Barracuda.

I think that last one is the car that used to belong to a mate of mine and I almost bought for $2000 but couldn't raise the cash. embarrassed

This 1971 Hemicuda (with a 1970 grille) was raced in France while owned by Henri Chemin and, later by, Marie Laurent. At the end of the 1974 racing season, Marie Laurent sold the car to Christopher Lawrence of Great Britain. Tony Lanfranchi drove this unwieldy beast through the 1975 British Saloon Car Championship season. He described his unsuccessful experience with the Hemicuda as "a disaster". In later years, the car passed through others' hands, and is believed to currently reside in Sweden.

In 1974, another (different) Hemicuda was raced unsuccessfully in Britain, driven by Gordon Spice. Any speculation as to where this car may be? Perhaps this is the car you are referring to, Dave?  Either way, it's a shame.  cry  Like me: a day late and a dollar (or pound sterling) short!!  cry

Smiley  Can you see Pierre-Yves Bertinchamps' Hemicuda at the start of the 1974 Spa 24 Hour race?  (Hint: Look in the front rows!)  Grin

You are welcome! I don't know how much interest there is in these photos or in the information, so I appreciate your feed-back. Thank you. Smiley

Unfortunately, I've been distracted from looking through more of the race results for the Hemicudas' competitors. As a New Year's resolution, I'll promise to try to list some of that information soon. (Well, before the end of 2006, anyway! Grin )

To the best of my (very limited) knowledge, there were no Challengers competing in the European Saloon Car or Touring Car series. if anyone has information to the contrary--- please post it here, thanks.
